In ‘Letter to the spirits’, Odete chronicles a mordant, yet hopeful coming-of-age story, reflecting on transness, transition and the body with a perspective that engages spirituality. The video opens with Rita Macedo portrayed as a celestial being, wandering towards a garden overshadowed by vacuous quarry-like interiors. They start burning natural totems in the dusk, an act alluding to themes of sacrifice and reincarnation.
